Yuck. We're days away from voting our next president into office. I've always voted republican because as far as I understand, I believe in the values that many republican officials fight to uphold. One very important value, of course, is the life of the unborn. The outcome of laws that either save millions of lives or kill millions of lives will likely result from who becomes the next president of the United States.
I recently asked a friend who they were voting for and they answered, they weren't. They said, "This election is too frustrating and our votes don't matter anyway." Out of my mouth, I heard myself say, "You don't do what is right because you might win. You do what's right because it's right." This whole election season I couldn't figure out if the sin would be to throw my vote away by voting for what's right (knowing this person has no chance at winning) or if the sin would be to vote for a man who is the epitome of being unchrist-like in the hope that good comes from it. I've made my choice. When I stand before God I can not in good conscience vote for Trump. I will be writing in an obscure, upstanding, nominee. This is going to sound strange coming from someone who hates abortion and goes to abortion clinics every week. But I don't go there to save babies. I go there for God. He called me and I want people to know about Him. Life with God is better than life without Him and He deserves our praise. ...Of course, hopefully a few babies will be saved along the way 😍. But more importantly, we serve Christ, not goodness, not happiness, not America. Joy comes from within and comes only from our Lord who gave His life for us. We live and we vote for His approval, nothing else. Do you trust Him to take care of the rest? ...He is God after all 😘
