A typical conversation outside of Planned Parenthood is often with a friend or partner of the young lady getting an abortion. The conversation goes very similarly to how one conversation went today. The ladies had already been taken back to begin their procedure. One man walked out, probably to find a restroom. A few minutes later he returned with a coffee from McDonald's. He was roaming around so I smiled and said hi. He asked what I do out here. I said, " I just try to offer help and support to lady's who might need it. " He told me he brought his roommate. Her biggest fear in coming was who might approach her as she walked in. She was afraid of being attacked by pro-lifers."
I remember these two. They sat in their car early in the morning till the last minute when PP opened. They walked inside very quickly. I was able to give them 1 card with the BECAUSELOVE.org website on it. As I spoke with this man he told
me that he was grateful to be approached initially in such a soft kind way and I'm quickly reminded that this, here and now is the reason God brought me to help. Now is my opportunity to share about Christ, about church, about after abortive healing groups that are centered around God. I handed out many cards this morning and I become hopeful that someone else goes to the website and reaches out to one of the many resources that might lead them to Christ. From there I pray that they lead others to Christ so that people will continue to find the hope and healing which can only be found in Him.
It is not my desire to condemn anyone or even save lives. It's my desire to serve God and be a help as He saves souls. What is life for these women and men without Christ? Knowing Him and having Him to turn to in our darkest times is worth more than a few years on earth.... it's worth forever in heaven with our Lord. God wants you to know that He is waiting to be in a relationship with you. He created you because He loves you. Life apart from Him will never satisfy and death apart from Him is eternal. We don't know how to truly love ourselves and each other because we don't know what real love is... 1 John 3: 16 says "This is how we know what love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for each other."
....What a beautiful love that He would die for us. If you don't know this Christ who died for you, He's worth getting to know. There's more info on the home page under "Christ's Love".
